A group of children from Montenegro, more than 200 of them, currently staying in Belgrade, visited the Church of St Sava after the House of the National Assembly.

The visit by children from Montenegro is part of the implementation of the Youth Camps project, which gathers 800 children from the entire region, under the auspices of the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region.

The head of the Directorate, Arnaud Gouillon, said that he was very satisfied with the results of this action so far and announced its continuation in the coming years.

According to him, various contents have been prepared for the children to enable them to learn about their motherland and see that they are ‘at their own’ here, that this is their second home, and to demonstrate by action that Serbia cares for its people, wherever they live.

‘It is important to develop a sense of belonging in childhood, and very concretely through the memories that we now give to these children - to tie them to Serbia, their motherland, to bond them with each other. Those friendships, now created, will remain in their memory for the rest of their lives’, said Gouillon.

As announced by the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region, children from Bosnia and Herzegovina are coming to Belgrade next Sunday, to be followed by those from Romania.
