Austria has introduced rigorous measures, lockdown for the unvaccinated, as well as stricter measures at the border for entry and stay, said Mladen Filipović, the head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Austria, as a guest on the RTRS morning program.

– Entry is restricted also for citizens of the Republic of Srpska, the 2.5 G rule applies, allowing entry only to those who have been vaccinated, who have recovered from the coronavirus in the last six months, or who have a PCR test not older than 72 hours – said Filipović.

However, upon entry in Austria, there is no guarantee that you will stay there for a long time.

– The 2G rule applies in catering facilities and hotels, i.e. only the vaccinated and those who have recovered from the coronavirus in the last six months can check in. Therefore, you cannot go to a hotel with a PCR test. We advise all our citizens to find up-to-date information and contact the Representation, and to check how to enter and stay in Austria – Filipović pointed out.

He noted that the police was performing rigorous controls in Austria.

– The new measures divided the public. In a way, an attempt is being made to raise the vaccination rate, which is now at 65 percent of the total population, and is low compared to the rest of the European Union. The police announced rigorous fines and controls. Yesterday alone, 15,000 people were controlled in Vienna, and 120 fines were issued. Winter is coming, a large number of people are infected on a daily basis, an attempt is being made to appeal to the remaining population of about two million to be vaccinated – Filipović added.
