The event Serbian Days – Serbian Culture Month marked the month of October in our community in Hungary. The event was established by the decision and blessing of His Eminence Bishop Lukijan of Buda, in order to increasingly contribute to presenting Serbian culture in Hungary each year. Event’s main organizer was the Eparchy of Buda and its sponsors were the Office of the President of the Republic of Srpska and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia. The partners were H.E. Biljana Gutić Bjelica, Ambassador of BiH in Hungary, Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Hungary, Serbian Self-Government in Hungary, Ljubomir Aleksov, Serbian Member of the Hungarian Parliament, Krug Artists’ Association and Art without Borders Association Belgrade.

The Serbian Days event certainly achieved the goals set by the organizer. Most importantly, Serbian culture in Hungary has been enriched, as well as Hungarian cultural scene in general. It was a special pleasure to cooperate with the institutions and associations that were organizing partners, and with wonderful artists, scientists and cultural workers, as well as with political figures and leaders of our people, who responded and took part in their field.

Artists from another motherland – the Republic of Srpska – also performed at Serbian Days, because the Republic of Srpska has something to show the cultural public of Europe and has something to be proud of.

The event lasted from 1 to 30 October 2023. The official opening of the event took place on 1 October this year in Tökölyanum in Budapest, and Serbian Days was opened by the President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik.
