The first political organization of Serbs in the USA, the Serbian American Voters Alliance Sava, aims to lobby for Serbian interests and find American politicians who will be friendly disposed towards the interests of the Serbian-American diaspora, said the president and founder of this newly founded organization, Olga Ravasi.

Although they originated from the Serbs for Trump initiative, Ravasi says that this organization will try to cooperate with both Republicans and Democrats, i.e. those who have proven to be friends of the Serbian people.

- However, first of all, we are citizens of the USA, we will fight very actively for the resolution of the acute internal problems in America - said Ravasi, adding that Sava will participate very actively in the 2024 election cycle in the USA, identify the candidates to support and take part in their campaigns.

She adds that American rules exclude direct cooperation of this organization with the homeland Serbia, but that on the other hand there must be communication.

- Serbia must understand that it should have an official lobbying policy in Washington, and there is a lot of room for that - Ravasi said for Sputnik.

She noted that Montenegrins, Albanians, Macedonians and Bosniaks have been ahead of Serbs for decades, and that Croats and Muslims have hired a firm and collected 60 and 75 million dollars for a lobbying presence, precisely to engage in propaganda against Serbs.

Ravasi notes that lobbying in America is a very serious, legally regulated, completely legitimate means of fighting for specific domestic and foreign policy interests, and points out that it is through Sava organization that the Serbian diaspora in America will work on lobbying for Serbian interests.

- We are currently in the process of forming the ‘Advisory Board,’ the weight will be on the people who are in the American discourse, who are on the American political scene, and in some way have proven to be friends of the Serbian people and understood everything we were going through in history - says Ravasi.

She did not want to reveal the names of the people who will join her at the helm of this organization, but she says that, first of all, those will be the team that participated in the organization Serbs for Trump, and on 10 March, when public presentation of the Alliance is scheduled, it will be known which of the political figures in America support the Serbs.

- General Michael Flynn and former congressional candidate from the state of Maryland, Kimberly Klacik, who is very charismatic and very popular here, are coming to that event in Florida. These are some of the candidates that we will endeavor to support in the future - says Ravasi.

The organization symbolically bears the name of the river flowing through Serbia - Sava, and at the same time the name of the greatest Serbian illuminator Sava. It is registered through the Federal Election Commission as a political action committee and cannot be called a party, but has similar political activities, supports certain candidates or works against them.

Olga Ravasi led the Serbs for Trump initiative as part of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in the last US presidential election.
