Consul General of BiH in Munich, Vera Sajić, spoke with representatives of the diaspora, presidents of seven associations operating in the territory of this city and gathering the citizens of BiH, Republic of Srpska and Republic of Serbia for many years.

The meeting at the BiH Consulate General in Munich was attended by the presidents of KUD Sveti Sava – Goran Kavržić, Kolo – Miljan Janković, Soko – Siniša Gajić and member Dušan Šarac, KUD Jugos – Stojan Ilić, president of KUD Jelek – Nedeljko Vodogaz and member Finka Pajić, and president of KUD Nikola Tesla – Sanda Macanović, and representatives of the Bavarian-Serbian Academic Forum – Aleksandar Naum and Srđan Matejević.

Pianist Zoran Imširović, who is a member of the Munich Council of Foreigners and Committee on Culture and Finance, also attended the meeting.

Representatives of the associations informed Sajić about their activities so far, the work of the associations during the pandemic and the problems they were facing.

The meeting also discussed forthcoming planned projects and activities.

Sajić pointed out that her intention was to learn about the work of the associations, to hear their problems, to try to solve them together, and to help the associations through some new initiatives and proposals for future projects.

– I am of the opinion that work of the associations is very important for our diaspora, for people to socialize and gather, but also to do some nice activities that can be recognized as useful in this society as well – said Sajić.

In her opinion, our citizens should present their culture and tradition to the society in which they now live and work, but also contribute to their new community with some projects.

– It is possible to do a lot of useful actions through smaller projects – Sajić noted.

The President of the Bavarian-Serbian Academic Forum, Aleksandar Naum, thanked Sajić for the initiative and holding this useful meeting.

– It is important in the diaspora to work on connecting people, exchanging information and learning from each other. Our Bavarian-Serbian Academic Forum gathers young people who, through projects, build and deepen the Bavarian-Serbian friendship and maintain contact with the motherland. The motto of our association is to learn from each other together – Naum pointed out.

The Munich Council of Foreigners member, pianist Zoran Imširović, informed association representatives about the possibilities of applying for projects in the city of Munich.

– The fact is that associations and their membership can obtain support of the city for quality and interesting projects in the field of culture, education, art, promotion of human values – Imširović noted, adding that the associations have so far rarely applied for these funds.

It was agreed at the meeting that the associations would meet quarterly in the future, exchange information regularly, and apply for some projects together, announced the BiH Consulate General in Munich.
