Organized by the Nikola Tesla Serbian cultural and artistic society from Freiburg last weekend, a big party of this society was held gathering folk dancers from three countries and five folklore ensembles for the first time. The hosts did not perform this time, but they cheered and enjoyed the performances throughout of folk dancers of Dobrosav Radosavljević Kikac cultural and artistic society from Basel (Switzerland), Božur cultural and artistic society from Belfort (France), Blumberg Serbian Cultural Centre from Blumberg, Mladost cultural and artistic society from Hamburg and Morava Serbian humanitarian and cultural society from Stuttgart (all from Germany).
They staged a true folklore extravaganza for all the present. Kikac children’s ensemble performed the dance Katanka, while the middle ensemble performed Dances from the area of Vladičin Han. Dances from Levač were performed by Blumberg SCC from Blumberg’s young dancers and Dances from Central Serbia by their performing ensemble members. The guests from France, Božur CAS dancers from Belfort, first introduced themselves with the song Lepe li su nano Gružanke devojke, and then performed dances from Šumadija.
Representatives of the humanitarian organization Svi za Kosmet, Basel branch had their own stand trying to raise as much as possible for the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. The Hubert 1924 distillery also had its stand allowing many to taste various brandy types from Serbia.
