The natural beauties, the Kozara mountain slopes, but also the rivers and lakes in the area of the city of Prijedor, are suitable for the development of rural tourism.
However, only a few hosts have opted to cash in on the blessings of nature.
The city’s tourism organization recognized the potentials of this branch of tourism and decided to encourage its development.
At the foot of the Kozara mountain, in Gornja Lamovita, lies the patrimony of Ratko Grahovac. He did not neglect the old property, but made it a real tourist paradise.
– We have an increased number of guests regardless of the coronavirus. The level of interest in rural tourism is slowly returning, and that will certainly yield effects. Not so fast, investments are necessary, endeavors are necessary – says Ratko.
The Radaković family decided to take the same step.
In addition to an abundant range of domestic bee products, they went a step further and opened the first Api inhale center. According to the standards of European countries, but at a price that is up to twenty times lower and adjusted to our population.
– We think we are moving towards developing apitourism. Therefore, we would expand it by having our products, our own health resort, and we would certainly offer overnight therapy on aromatic fragrant hay, which is something new – says Duška Radaković from Gornja Dragotinja.
The potential for rural tourism development in the area of Prijedor is vast. That is why the city’s tourism organization launched the initiative. A register of agricultural holdings is being prepared.
– We are trying to inform the people that there is something else they can do, that there is not just agriculture, and that agriculture should be the primary activity and tourism can be a secondary activity – says Amira Ganić, the director of the Tourism Organization of the city of Prijedor.
Although a highly underdeveloped tourism branch, it offers numerous advantages in the Prijedor area. The possibility of reviving neglected households, but also an additional or even basic form of income.
