The Museum of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka houses books of exceptional importance for our culture.

They deserve special attention because of their year of publication or because of the dedications by the extremely important people for the history of our culture, such as Vuk Stefanović Karadžić, archpriest Dušan Kecmanović, Dositej Obradović and many others.

The stock of the museum library holds about 15,000 books, almost half of which belong to the category of old and rare books. The oldest date back to the 16th century.

Throughout decades, the Republic of Srpska Museum has collected also some of the most valuable editions, which fall under the category of real literary treasures due to their specificity, importance or historical moment of their creation.

The value of certain books is also hidden in that inside their covers there are handwritten dedications that give exceptional importance to the work.
