The Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, spoke with a delegation of the Alexandrinsky National Drama Theater from Saint Petersburg, one of the oldest theaters in Russia.

– I wished them welcome to the Republic of Srpska and to establish good cooperation with our theaters – Dodik said.

The Alexandrinsky Theater is one of the symbols of St Petersburg.

It was founded in 1756 and it is the first Russian professional theater.

Trivić: Exceptional Cultural Exchange with Russia So Far

The Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska, Natalija Trivić, said that cultural exchange between Russia and Srpska had been exceptional.

During the meeting in Banja Luka with the first secretary for cultural cooperation of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in BiH, Yuri Pichugin, and the delegation of the Alexandrinsky National Drama Theater from St Petersburg, Trivić welcomed this, as well as any other possibility of theatrical and cultural exchange.

The meeting discussed past and future cooperation with related institutions from the Republic of Srpska, mutual exchange and its importance, announced the line ministry.

The delegation of the Alexandrinsky National Drama Theater was led by the Director, Sergey Emelyanov.

Emelyanov is also a member of the culture commission of the State Council of the Russian Federation, which is preparing the organization of an important event within cultural cooperation with the Republic of Srpska for the following year – Days of the Alexandrinsky Theater in Serbia and Republic of Srpska, about which he informed Trivić.

In addition to director Emelyanov, the Russian delegation included Daniil Tolmachov, deputy director of the Alexandrinsky Theater, Ana Tomchik, head of the Theater’s International Projects Department, and Georgy Engelgardt, special representative of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Belgrade.
