The President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, said that St Sava Ball held in Vienna is a beautiful traditional event of the Serbian diaspora, which also has a humanitarian character this year.

– St Sava Ball in Vienna is a beautiful traditional event of our diaspora, and this year it also has a humanitarian character of supporting children in need – said Dodik.

The Serbian Center is the organizer of the Viennese St Sava Ball.

The humanitarian aspect of this traditional gathering of the Serbian diaspora will result in implementation of a project to support children in need, and for the first time, establishment of cooperation with the Novak Đoković Foundation.

Đoković’s wife, Jelena, and wife of the Serbian President, Tamara Vučić, were among the many guests.

The President of the Serbian Center, Milan Vidović, who is also the President of the Organizing Committee, said that the desire was to keep the Hofburg as the location of holding St Sava Ball, since it was the most prestigious place.

The tradition of holding the Viennese St Sava Ball dates back to the middle of the 19th century, and it was revived in 1998 by the Serbian Center Association.

This prestigious event, which is part of both the famous Viennese ball season and St Sava festivities, gathers distinguished guests from the world of business, politics, culture and sports.

‘St Sava Ball in Vienna is a wonderful tradition and shows dedication to St Sava and what it means to our people. It is part of our identity, something that means an additional connection with the motherland for every Serb, especially in the diaspora. I am happy to have witnessed this wonderful evening. — Milorad Dodik (@MiloradDodik)  February 11, 2023
