The A:Kultura association from Vienna marked a decade of existence by organizing three unforgettable nights. By travel through epochs dedicated to the Dunđerski family, the association showed in three locations that it continued to nurture culture also in the next decade.

The program was organized in cooperation with Srbobran Cultural Centre and is part of the project Lenka’s Constellation – Dunđerski Trails supported by the municipality of Srbobran and the Provincial Secretariat for Culture, Public Information and Relations with Religious Communities of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.

The first evening was a literary and scientific gathering, where representatives of Matica Srpska presented the results of a multidisciplinary scientific research work on the topic of the Dunđerski family.

The gathering also presented how Srbobran, through Lenka’s Ring event and literary award has been nurturing for 18 years, the memory of Lenka Dunđerski, who was the inspiration to the great Laza Kostić for the poem Santa Maria della Salute.

On the second evening, the audience enjoyed a ceremonial concert opened by young artists, members of the Serbian Academic Ensemble Vienna, performing classical works in the original arrangement.

The guests were welcomed by Milorad Samardžija and Alfred Mansfeld, Chairman of the Culture Commission in the 15th Vienna district. Mansfeld presented the A:Kultura association with a special recognition, the Charter of Friendship, on the occasion of the significant jubilee. Performances by A:Kultura members followed.

On the second night, 65 awards and recognitions were presented to deserving members, partners, media partners, sponsors and artists who jointly built A:Kultura.

On the third evening, the play Od raja do beznjenice was performed, a play about the tragic love of Laza Kostić, the genius poet, and Lenka Dunđerski, the daughter of Lazar Dunđerski, the most powerful and richest Serb of that time in Austria-Hungary.

– There was no better place with more symbolism and emotions to hold the third, final evening of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of A:Kultura than right at the Bristol Hotel – said Samardžija.

– The entire event, all three evenings, will remain in our history and the history of the city of Vienna – said Samardžija not hiding the pleasure.
