The Minister of Culture in the Republic of Serbia’s Government, Nikola Selaković, and Minister of Education Slavica Đukić Dejanović reached an agreement with the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Stojičić, on the implementation of joint activities in the field of culture and education.

During the meeting, the ministers stated that the continuation of joint work was in the best interest of Serbia and Republic of Srpska, as well as the Serbian people as a whole, while discussing initiatives aimed at preserving our culture, tradition and language.

They noted that joint projects and events, as well as marking the anniversaries of events of importance for the entire Serbian nation, such as the 200th anniversary of the birth of Branko Radičević, would contribute significantly to strengthening cooperation and unity, especially considering the challenges we were facing.

The ministers agreed that the upcoming large Serbian assembly, scheduled for 8 June in accordance with the agreement of the President of the Republic of Serbia and President of the Republic of Srpska, would contribute to further strengthening of our ties and the feeling of unity among the members of our people wherever they lived.

In this context, an agreement was reached on meetings and cooperation between related institutions in the field of culture and education during the Assembly days, as well as on signing of documents that would deepen further the unity and togetherness of the Serbian people, including the Memorandum on Cooperation between the ministries of culture in the field of film art and other audiovisual creativity.

In order to improve the relations further, cooperation between the cities-national cultural capitals of Serbia and partner cities in the Republic of Srpska has been agreed within the Cultural Capital of Serbia project.
