A delegation of members of the management board of the Austrian-Serbian Economic Forum from Vienna visited Belgrade yesterday and had a series of meetings aimed at improving economic and institutional cooperation.
Representatives of the Austrian-Serbian Economic Forum visited the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Serbia and spoke with the Head of the Office, Mlađan Cicović, after which a meeting was held at the CMS Belgrade law office.
The delegation, which includes several prominent businessmen, also met with Nenad Đurđević, special advisor to the president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
The Head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in the Republic of Austria, Mladen Filipović, said that in Vienna alone there were about 3,000 Serb-owned companies, and that many of them would like to expand their business to the territory of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia.
‘The visit aims to further network Austrian and Serbian businessmen through the Austrian-Serbian Economic Forum and Republic of Srpska Representation in Austria. We wish to further improve cooperation and strengthen economic ties,’ said Mladen Filipović, Head of the Republic of Srpska’s Austrian Representation, which supported the organization of Belgrade visit.
He noted that in the future such meetings should encourage young Serbs in Austria, the third or fourth generation living in that country, to engage in the economic, political and cultural context, because the Serbian community in Austria had enormous potential.
The Head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Serbia, Mlađan Cicović, said that the Austrian-Serbian Economic Forum Vienna and his office had been working intensively recently on connecting the businessmen of Srpska, Serbia and Austria.
– The meeting was extremely meaningful and we will continue to work in full capacity on promoting the Austrian-Serbian Economic Forum in Serbia, organizing businessmen events and meetings in order to influence greater economic activities – stated Cicović.
