Portion of project filming for the Serbian Kolo documentary film and series directed by Željko Mirković was completed last week in Washington, says the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia. The filming was organized with the support and organization of the Opančići Serbian Cultural Center from Washington and the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the United States. The project was filmed in front of the White House, at the Jefferson Memorial, in front of the Washington Monument and at several other locations. ‘It gathered over 60 performers from three folk dance ensembles, a girls’ choir, Srbijana chamber choir, accordion soloist Milan Mitić, Biljana Regan’s ethno group for the promotion of folk costumes and traditions, and St. Luke’s Church children’s choir and folk dance group’, adds the statement.
