The Police Orchestra of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and Stanislav Binički Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defense of Serbia held a concert in Krajina Square in Banja Luka.

The concert was attended by the President of the Republic of Srpska, Želјka Cvijanović, Minister of the Interior, Dragan Lukač, Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Alen Šeranić, Minister of Transport and Communications, Nedeljko Ćorić, and Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Zoran Tegeltija.

The concert under the slogan Great in Heart was held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Srpska.

The President of Srpska wrote on Instagram that she was proud to be the patron of this great event.

Concert program was created in collaboration with Major Nikola Živković and Jelena Atlagić, and conductors Katarina Božić and Dušan Pokrajčić.

It started with intoning of the anthems of the Republic of Srpska – Moja Republika and Serbia – Bože Pravde, and continued with rendition of several marches, patriotic, classical and film music compositions, popular local and global hits.

The audience could hear patriotic songs such as Oj, Srbijo, Ovo je Srbija, Tamo Daleko, Marš na Drinu, Vidovdan, Pukni Zoro, followed by folk music compositions and some evergreen and pop compositions.

Songs from local cult films, such as Devojko Mala from Ljubav i Moda or Flojd from Nacionalna Klasa were heard in Krajina Square, as well as the theme from Otpisani, popular theme from James Bond films, hits of world famous groups…

The conductor of the Police Orchestra of Srpska’s Ministry of the Interior, Dušan Pokrajčić, said that collaboration with an ensemble such as Stanislav Binički meant a lot to this orchestra, because the Police Orchestra was very young and existed for three and a half years.

The head of the Stanislav Binički Art Ensemble, Major Nikola Živković, said that, in addition to joint performances, the collaboration was largely unfolding also on the exchange of sheet music, and announced intensification of the existing mutual collaboration.

Back in 1899, the great Serbian composer Stanislav Binički founded the First Belgrade Military Orchestra whose tradition has been preserved for three centuries by the Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, named after the founder. Their collaboration with the Police Orchestra of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior the dates back to 2017.
