At Film Assembly on the Dnieper, the 12th International Orthodox Film Festival, the jury awarded a bronze film ladder to the film Diary of a War Surgeon by Siniša Grabež, and an emerald film ladder to Milana Majar’s recently completed film Tell Me with a Smile.

Southern Move, a documentary by Milan Petković, was awarded a 1st degree diploma in the historical film category.

The competition program presented 41 documentaries from 12 countries – Ukraine, Belarus, Germany, Georgia, Iran, Spain, Republic of Srpska, Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, USA and Japan. There were as many as 14 premieres of films made in 2021 at the festival.

The slogan of the festival is Truth about us in a documentary.

The Festival is organized by the Lestvitsa (Ladder) Center for Orthodox Culture and the Dnipropetrovsk Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The general director of the Film Festival is Archpriest Igor Sobko, an honored cultural worker of Ukraine.
