Serbian Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region will soon launch an institutional, media and social media campaign to help institutions of the Republic of Srpska protect the property of Serbs in the Federation of BiH.

About 400,000 Serbs have title to real estate in the Federation of BiH, and this topic was discussed today at a conference in Belgrade, organized by the Republic Administration for Geodetic and Property Affairs and Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Serbia.

Persons having title to real estate in FBiH and wishing to be registered as owners in cadasters should contact one of the six offices of the Republic Administration for Geodetic and Property Affairs in the Republic of Srpska as soon as possible.

Since their formation, the offices have already received about 4,000 requests, mostly related to adjusting the information and problems with ownership of plots that once belonged to Serbs, and are now registered to municipalities or cantons.

– We have problems with many roads, which are suddenly planned on Serb property, we also have problems with forests, with Sarajevo Canton Forests that wiped an entire family from the land and registered all that forest to Sarajevo Canton – said Đorđe Radanović, coordinator of operation of the Office for Professional Legal Assistance to Serbs in FBiH.

Serb property in the Federation of BiH has been largely destroyed and neglected. RAGPA is also warning of the danger of ‘usucaption’ procedure, i.e. FBiH citizens who have been cultivating Serb land for 10 or 20 years, acquiring the right of ownership.

– Based on the data that Serbs inhabited rural areas, more than 30 percent of the territory of the Federation belongs to Serbs. We must not forget that this concerns not only a plot, someone’s private property, but also territory – said Bosiljka Predragović, director of the Republic Administration for Geodetic and Property Affairs.

A wider campaign will start soon and involve Serbian institutions, aimed at informing Serbs living abroad about the possibilities of protecting their property in the Federation of BiH.

The director of the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Arnaud Gouillon, said that the Directorate would initiate the campaign next week.

– The Directorate will activate associations or through the diplomatic and consular network of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and we believe that the role of social networks will be important, because we will reach every Serb originating from those areas and their descendants – said Gouillon.

И са скупа у Београду упућена је јасна порука, бивши становници Федерације БиХ српске националности или њихови потомци, требало би да се што прије јаве канцеларијима РУГИПП-а у градовима Српске, да би добили правне савјете и задржали своју имовину.
