Within the Days of Srpska in Serbia, a delegation of the Republic of Srpska from the Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation spoke in Čačak with the Deputy Mayor, Vladan Milić, and the Assistant Mayor, Miroslav Petković, about strengthening the ties between the city of Čačak and the Republic of Srpska.

Republic of Srpska delegation at the reception in the Čačak city administration consisted of Nemanja Kovačević, Assistant Minister for International Cooperation, and Goran Vučić, Chief of Staff to the Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation in the Republic of Srpska Government.

Kovačević said that the discussion emphasized the commitment to nurturing common tradition and culture, and placed the focus on strengthening the programs and projects aimed at connecting and cooperating with youth from this side of the Drina river.

He stated that the jubilee, the tenth successive Days of Srpska in Serbia was being held in the year of celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Republic of Srpska, thus giving it special importance.

‘On that occasion, we spoke with city of Čačak representatives about strengthening the ties between the city of Čačak and the Republic of Srpska. Connecting municipalities and cities from Serbia and Srpska is the focus of this year’s event, and that is why I am glad that Čačak is one of the host cities’, Kovačević said.

Last night, a delegation of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Serbia agreed with the leadership of Zrenjanin, within the Srpska Days in Serbia, to intensify cooperation with the three sister cities – Bijeljina, Trebinje and Laktaši, and to expand the student internship project.

The Head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Serbia, Mlađen Cicović, said that it was agreed with the Mayor of Zrenjanin, Simo Salapura, and his associates to intensify the cooperation of youth, prominent young artists and businessmen.

Regarding the expansion of student internships, Cicović stated that it was agreed to launch an initiative with the Zrenjanin Youth Office to have students from the Republic of Srpska do their internships in that city.

Salapura said that they were particularly bound to the Republic of Srpska through the twinning agreements with Trebinje, Bijeljina and Laktaši, and good ties with Višegrad and Bileća.

He pointed out that the ties of Vojvodina, that part of Banat, with the Republic of Srpska were much deeper and longer, and that this was demonstrated also by the origin and contacts between the communities.

‘We are especially glad to follow what the leadership of the governments of Serbia and Srpska are doing in terms of becoming closer, not only concerning culture, but every area of economic development’, Salapura said.

A stand of the Tourism Organization of the Republic of Srpska was officially opened on the same day in Novi Sad, on Sloboda Square, to present all the tourism potentials and resources of the Republic of Srpska, which has already been a favorite destination of Serbian citizens for years.

The Director of the Republic of Srpska Tourism Organization, Miodrag Lončarević, pointed out at the ceremonious opening of the stand that the Tourism Organization of the Republic of Srpska and tourism organizations of the cities and municipalities of the Republic of Srpska were extremely motivated to best present themselves in Serbia.

‘Our brothers and sisters visit the Republic of Srpska in large numbers, and we always rejoice to see the number of visits grow’, said Lončarević.

The promotion of tourism products of the Republic of Srpska in Novi Sad is part of the program of the tenth anniversary Days of Srpska in Serbia, and it will last from 12 to 14 September from 12:00 to 21:00.
