Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation Zlatan Klokić visited the five-member Nišević family, who had returned to Srpska from Austria.

They explained their decision to return by better conditions for both work and family life.

Dragana and Bojan Nišević and their three children returned to Bojan’s birthplace of Niševići. One of the reasons is the desire to raise 11-year-old Sunčica, eight-year-old Vuk and six-year-old Dragan in their own country.

– I like it better here, because I have animals, I have a garden, my life is better here than in Austria – said Sunčica Nišević.

– I play football and I am eight years old. Here I can play everything, which I could not do there. I have a lot of animals that I feed almost every day – said Vuk Nišević.

Dragana Nišević owns a tailoring company, and Bojan, who is an electrical engineer, owns an information technology company.

– We concluded it was financially better to be here, specifically income taxes are significantly lower. Srpska here has income taxes of 10 percent, while Austrian progressive tax rate starts at 43 percent upwards – said Bojan Nišević.

Bojan says that, thanks to Srpska’s Representative Office in Vienna, he has obtained some of his largest clients. The Representative Office operates within the Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation.

– What the institutions are doing is supporting certain projects that the residents of this village want, which is primarily the reconstruction of the local school, the construction of lighting that is necessary for this hamlet, that is, for this village, and the construction of infrastructure that is necessary for the functioning of their household, not only theirs, but also the entire village – said Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation Zlatan Klokić.

Although there are no official statistics on the number of returnees from abroad to Srpska, Minister Klokić says that last year 260 children from families who had returned were enrolled in schools.
