A group of businessmen from Austria visited Trebinje. The meeting and presentation at the city administration discussed potential business cooperation, exporting products from this part of the Republic of Srpska to Austria, and presented Trebinje’s business and tourism potentials. The meeting was organized with the assistance of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Austria.
There are many ways to improve cooperation between businessmen from Herzegovina and those originating from our regions who have developed successful businesses in Austria.
Some Herzegovinian products are already available on shelves in Austrian stores, but it was concluded that there was room for further improvement.
- We already import some products from Herzegovina, primarily Vukoje and Tvrdoš wines, in addition to more than 50 products from the Republic of Srpska - said Dejan Škorić, a businessman from Austria.
Mladen Filipović, head of the Republic of Srpska’s Austrian Representation, stated that the meeting was a way for our businessmen and those from Austria to connect and, according to him, to hear about Trebinje, its potentials, tourism, and the food industry.
Some steps have already been taken, and by the end of the year, the Herzeg and Krajina houses are expected to open in Austria, offering indigenous domestic products.
- We are considering what Trebinje can offer and what needs to be done to attract Austrian businessmen to this city - said Mirko Ćurić, mayor of Trebinje.
