The Minister without portfolio in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, responsible for monitoring the situation, proposing measures and participating in the coordination of activities in the field of relations with the diaspora, Đorđe Milićević, visited Topola yesterday, where he spoke with the leadership of the municipality about his office’s projects, and organizing a summer thematic camp for youth from the diaspora and the region.
On that occasion, Milićević reiterated the importance of this project intended for young people, noting that children growing up outside the homeland had the opportunity to get to know their homeland better through various cultural, educational, and sports activities.
Our goal is to further improve cooperation with local governments year after year, he said, pointing out that this year’s thematic summer camps would be more eventful. The office has signed memoranda with numerous organizations, such as the Serbian Sports Federation, and agreements will also be signed with professional organizations to further improve summer camp quality, Milićević said.
The Minister recalled that this year’s camps would be held during June and July and that an even larger number of young people was expected to come to Serbia to study history and culture and learn the Serbian language, but also to build a spirit of unity with their peers through sports games.
He reiterated that the Vidovdan Assembly would take place this year, bringing together all associations and umbrella organizations that unite Serbs outside Serbia, and announced a series of events to be held in 15 countries around the world to promote Belgrade Expo 2027.
