The Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Srpska, Vjekoslav Petričević, and Minister of Economy of Serbia, Anđelka Atanasković, agreed in Belgrade to work intensively in the coming period to implement previously agreed projects.
Petričević noted that the discussion covered projects related to Podrinje and formation of industrial zones, and added that the Government of the Republic of Srpska would delegate certain topics at a joint session, planned in the second half of May.
‘First of all, it is necessary that we use the good experiences that Serbia has had in the previous period and, on the other hand, that we apply what we can to businessmen from Serbia through our legal solutions,’ said Petričević.
He reminded that the Law on Incentives of the Republic of Srpska enabled the Government to support, by a special decision, the economic entities making investments which enable employment of more than 100 staff.
‘In a way, we wanted to inform businessmen here in Serbia about these possibilities and also about the model that has been announced in a way whereby all businessmen initiating investments in Srpska from Serbia will be supported by the Government of Serbia and, on the other hand, be able to use all the benefits enjoyed by businessmen in the Republic of Srpska,’ said Petričević.
He thanked Serbia and its President Aleksandar Vučić for the assistance sent to Srpska so far and for the cooperation so far in general.
Serbian Minister of Economy, Anđelka Atanasković, said that she was pleased for being in a position to talk to the guests from the fraternal Republic of Srpska that day, saying that individual talks would continue after the Easter holidays in order to implement earlier agreements.
‘At the same time, we have launched the possibility of providing assistance in training, projects and infrastructure systems, so they will benefit from that with us as well. Through the Chamber of Commerce, Development Agency and our networks we will try to see the potential of our companies that would be interested in investing,’ said Atanasković.
Atanasković emphasized that Serbia would also try to direct foreign investors towards Srpska.
The head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Belgrade, Mlađen Cicović, also attended the meeting of the ministers of Serbia and Srpska.
