The celebration of the great jubilee – 6 decades since the establishment of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Banja Luka was contributed to by the Students’ Union of this Faculty organizing the first international scientific student conference.
At the opening, it was announced that the goal of the conference was to network students from the region and the world with the economy, and the intention was to make it traditional.
The topic of the first conference is Smart City – Smart Life, and the objective is to present projects related to this current global topic to students through lectures and workshops.
FEE students Jelena, Bojan and two Aleksandars put into practice the idea created two years ago. They gathered more than 500 students from eight faculties of technical sciences from Serbia, Croatia, North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
– During the next two days, our sponsors and friends of the conference will organize numerous workshops, as well as panel discussions and, naturally, meetings between students to see how we can improve inter-student cooperation – said Aleksandar Jelić, the president of the Students’ Union of the Electrical Engineering Faculty in Banja Luka.
We have countless examples of how competitive the professionals graduating from this faculty are on the world market. Many companies have recognized this, so by supporting the faculty, they invest directly in their future employees.
– What is special, a special pleasure for me as the dean of the faculty is that we have students capable of organizing such an event and that they managed to gather students from the region – said Zoran Đurić, the dean of the Banja Luka Electrical Engineering Faculty.
The Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, added that being someone who came from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, it was a special pleasure for him to support young people both financially and institutionally.
Connecting the dots is a phrase often used by conference participants to clarify its goal. That this one will network students among them and students with the economy, as well as institutions with each other, was obvious already on the first evening of the first international scientific student conference.
