The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia hosted a meeting between Dušan Kozarev, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zlatan Klokić, Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, and Vladimir Kokanović, Director of the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region. They discussed joint cooperation abroad and with the diaspora.
The Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, said in Belgrade that the day of the adoption of Srpska’s Constitution was one of the most important dates in the history of the Republic.
– In addition to 28 February, the day of the adoption of the Constitution, there is also 9 January as the day of the establishment of the Republic of Srpska – Klokić said in Belgrade on the eve of a ceremonial reception in honor of the Day of the Republic and 34 years since the proclamation of the first Constitution of the Republic of Srpska.
Klokić noted it was important to have these dates celebrated also outside the borders of the Republic of Srpska. – Naturally, the most solemn event always takes place in Belgrade, when representatives of Serbian institutions celebrate these important dates in Serbian history together with us – Klokić stated.
On 28 February 1992, the Assembly of the Serb People of BiH adopted the Constitution which was passed unanimously on the basis of the Founding Declaration and guaranteed full equality and equity of the peoples and citizens of the Republic.
