The Republic of Srpska Representative Office in the Russian Federation invites you to take part in the Paths of Friendship international individual and team chess tournament. The tournament will take place on 8 January 2023 (Sunday) at 15:00 hrs. Moscow time.
On the occasion of 9 January – the Day of the Republic of Srpska and Christmas, team chess tournaments between clubs from the Republic of Srpska, Serbia, Montenegro and Russia will be held online for the third time. The tournament is held within the signed agreement on cooperation in the field of chess education between the Chess Association of the Republic of Srpska and General Education Secondary School no. 5 of the city of Yugorsk (Russian Federation).
Children aged up to 17 take part in the Paths of Friendship international tournament (from 31 December 2022, up to 18). The contestants will have 5 minutes to think and 3 seconds of extra time, and play nine rounds under the Swiss system.
The tournament will be organized on the internet platform play.chessking.com. The regularity of the competition will be monitored by portal administration and jury of the following composition:
– chief arbiter (category 2 arbiter): Evgeny Veniaminovich Votintsev – pedagogue, organizer of the tournament from the MBOU General Education Secondary School No. 5, Yugorsk;
– second arbiter – Nemanja Šipka – arbiter from the Republic of Srpska Chess Federation, FIDE arbiter.
In addition to individual results, the tournament will announce the best team results.
The chess tournament among general education school students is held to: promote chess among students, announce the best chess players among students in online chess, introduce digital technologies in chess training and playing, strengthen friendly relations between chess players of Russia and Republic of Srpska.
The signed agreement and agreed activities are implemented with the support of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in the Russian Federation.
