On 11 December 2022, the academic cultural and artistic society Kolo celebrated 15 years of existence and successful work with a Hajd’ u Kolo! (Join the kolo) festive program in the city theater in Koper.

The program included traditional songs and dances from different parts of Serbia and Serbian population of Western Slavonia, performed by academic folk dance and singing female and male group. Members of the folk dance groups Kolce, Školarci and Omladinci performed the dances and songs.

The program consisted of shorter drama segments in the Serbian language, prepared by children of younger and older school age in the classes of Ćirilandija, a school of Serbian language, literature, tradition and culture operating continuously since 2009 within the Kolo society.

This was followed by the ceremonial presentation of bronze, silver and gold Marolt badges, awarded by the Republic of Slovenia Public Fund for Cultural Activities to the members engaged in folklore activities for 5, 10 or 15 years.

At the end of the concert, the children attending the Serbian supplementary school joined the children on stage to sing together Negujmo srpski jezik (Let’s nurture the Serbian language).
