The Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, announced holding of the Open Balkan international conference on 5 April in Banja Luka, which should gather representatives of the economy and politics of the member countries of that initiative.

– We are organizing it together with the Association of Young Economists, with whom we traditionally have good cooperation, and we expect representatives to arrive from Serbia, North Macedonia and Montenegro – Klokić said.

He stated that a meeting had been held earlier with the owner of a German company planning an investment of more than 50 million euros in the area of Prnjavor and that signing of a cooperation memorandum was expected in mid-April or early May between that company, the municipality of Prnjavor and the Government of Srpska.

Klokić said that it was a company from the automotive industry sector operating in several countries with more than 10,000 employees, and planning to employ around 800 workers in Srpska over a five-year period.

THE FIRST HUNDRED DAYS – ANALYSIS OF OPERATION OF SRPSKA’S REPRESENTATIVE OFFICES ABROAD

According to him, in the first 100 days of work of the Government of Srpska, based on the inaugural address of Prime Minister Radovan Višković, activities were started on analyzing the operation of representative offices of Srpska abroad.

He said that a working group had been appointed to perform that analysis and that it still remained to analyze the operation of Srpska’s US Representation.

– This is done from the point of view of all that needs to be done to improve their operation. After that, we will inform the Government of Srpska, which will reach conclusions and obligations for the heads of representations to present Srpska even better – said Klokić.

He added that holding of an international conference was planned within the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, which is currently chaired by BiH. Originally it was supposed to be held in March, but it has been postponed to the end of April or beginning May. That event should discuss sustainable development implementation from the UN program for member countries of that initiative.

Klokić said that the Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation had coordinated the adoption of last year’s IPA III program, as well as the development of the energy support package plan, on the basis of which the European Commission had provided 70 million euros for entire BiH.

Of that, he added, a third belongs to Srpska to support the energy consumers affected by electricity price growth, which are estimated at between 55,000 and 60,000 persons in Srpska.
