The Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation in the Government of the Republic of Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, and Minister without portfolio in charge of coordinating activities and measures in the field of relations between the Republic of Serbia and the diaspora, Đorđe Milićević, visited the stands presenting tourism offer of the Republic of Srpska at Belgrade International Tourism Fair and said that we were the same people and the Drina was not a border separating us, but a backbone connecting us.
Minister Klokić stated that it was important to present Srpska’s tourism capacities and potentials, not only to the citizens of Serbia, but also wider, this being one of the largest tourism fairs in the region.
He invited Serbian citizens to make sure to visit the ‘Olympic beauty Jahorina, spa complexes, beautiful Trebinje, Drina river, Kozara national park,’ as well as many other tourist sites in the Republic of Srpska.
Klokić commended the thematic summer camps for children from the diaspora organized by Serbia last year and announced joint work by the two offices to organize the camps in 2024.
Milićević noted the necessity to strengthen the cooperation and strong ties between Serbia and Republic of Srpska, reads the statement of the minister without portfolio in charge of coordinating activities and measures in the field of relations between the Republic of Serbia and the diaspora.
‘My message to the citizens living in the Republic of Srpska and Serbia is – you need not go to distant destinations. It suffices to be in Serbia to visit spas, natural beauties. And it suffices to come to the Republic of Srpska, it is not far, and to see all these charms and benefits that are within reach,’ said Milićević.
He added that tourism in both Serbia and Republic of Srpska was expanding.
The two ministers were received by the head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Serbia, Mlađan Cicović.
This year, for the first time the tourism offer of the Republic of Srpska is united in one point at Belgrade International Tourism Fair, i.e. 10 exhibitors from Srpska will present the beauty and offer of the Republic to the visitors of the Belgrade Fair on an area of 326 square meters.
During the Fair, the stands of tourism organizations of Banja Luka, Trebinje, Istočno Sarajevo /Jahorina/, Bijeljina, Višegrad and Brčko District, and stands of Ravna planina – Stan promet Ski Center Pale, Kozara National Park and Mlječanica Spa presented the complete tourism offer and potential of these destinations, together with travel agencies and other tourism service providers.
