Local self-governments are organizing sports, scientific and cultural and artistic camps in which thousands of young people from the diaspora will participate, and the ministry is funding with 120 million dinars the entire project aimed at creating stronger ties between the motherland and the diaspora.
The minister without portfolio in the Government of the Republic of Serbia responsible for coordinating activities and measures in relations with the diaspora, Đorđe Milićević, signed agreements within the Financial Support Program with representatives of 20 cities and municipalities to hold a total of 22 thematic summer camps for youth from the diaspora.
‘Our government recognizes the importance of the diaspora and their contribution to the development of Serbia. These thematic summer camps are a unique opportunity for young Serbs from all over the world to connect with their roots, learn more about our culture, history and language, but also to establish new friendships. These experiences will be invaluable and I believe help them to develop their national identity and love Serbia even more’, said the minister.
