Investors from Austria visited Banja Luka today and continued to discover the possibilities for investing in the Republic of Srpska, announced Srpska’s Investment Development Bank.
Yesterday in Prijedor, these investors expressed great interest in investing in the Republic of Srpska.
The press release states that the guests from Austria spoke yesterday in Prijedor with the acting director of Srpska’s IDB, Dražen Vrhovac, and representatives of Prijedor city administration headed by the mayor, Slobodan Javor.
On this occasion, Prijedor city administration presented its potential, emphasizing that Prijedor had been declared one of the five best micro-destinations for investment and among the first local communities in the Republic of Srpska to receive the a BFC certificate of business friendly environment.
Among other things, the investors had the opportunity to receive an Investment Profile brochure, a local government investment profile consisting on average of 50 pages with all the necessary details, and they noted that this was the first time they had seen such a detailed and comprehensive material.
– The entire database of the Republic of Srpska IDB includes more than 5,000 pages and a complete investment profile of the whole Republic of Srpska with everything that might be of interest to potential investors – reads the release.
Vrhovac noted that the visit and interest of Austrian investors was the result of an IDB Srpska delegation visiting Vienna in the first half of June and meeting with representatives of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, Serb business diaspora, and about 40 Austrian businessmen, with the unreserved mediation of the head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office, Mladen Filipović.
It further reads that IDB Srpska representatives presented to the Austrian investors the investment opportunities and capital projects of the Republic of Srpska, its municipalities and cities, as well as IDB activities on strong promotion of the potentials of the Republic, the goal of which is a greater inflow of direct foreign investments to strengthen business environment, and thus increase employment level.
The first group of potential Austrian investors arrived yesterday for a two-day visit to the Republic of Srpska, comprising the owner and director of a company for real estate investment, construction, sale and rental in Austria, Europe and the world, Josef Fuchshuber, the president of the board of the company Procon, management consultant in industry, banking and insurance, professor at the Vienna University of Technology and Economics, Karl Wagner, and financial advisor in private banking in Switzerland and Austria, Arnaud Aleksandar Sardelic.
The IDB noted that representatives of this bank headed by Vrhovac would visit Russia at the beginning of August with the aim of introducing, meeting and attracting foreign investors, where they would meet with representatives of the Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod Chambers of Commerce and Russian businessmen interested in investing in Srpska.
According to the release, a meeting was arranged between representatives of the Greek company Aktor and IDB Srpska leadership for the end of August.
The release adds that the Investment Development Bank’s activities on this topic will continue in September with active participation at the Thessaloniki International Fair, where a presentation is planned of investment opportunities, potentials, and capital projects of the Republic of Srpska and its local communities.
