From 15 to 18 September 2022, at the invitation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of St. Petersburg and with the support of the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in the Russian Federation, a delegation of the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska participated in the 30th Congress of the World Society of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons and at the 11th international congress Current trends of modern cardiothoracic surgery.
The following represented UCC RS in the events: Marko Kantar, head of the Thoracic Surgery Clinic at UCC RS, thoracic surgeon, Tanja Cvetković-Tomanić, anesthesiologist-reanimatologist, Edita Grbavac, anesthesiologist-reanimatologist, Goran Topić, anesthesiologist-reanimatologist.
At the symposium on Miscellaneous in Thoracic Surgical Oncology within the congress, Marko Kantar gave a presentation on Single Port Thoracoscopic Approach for Combined Lung Resection. In addition, the delegation attended symposia and met with Russian doctors, including Dmitry Vladimirovich Bazarov, thoracic surgeon, head of the Thoracic Surgery Department of the FNBU Russian Scientific Center of Surgery named after academician B.V. Petrovski, and Vadim Grigorevich Pischik, deputy chief physician for surgery, City Clinical Oncology Center of St. Petersburg. A preliminary agreement was reached at these meetings to organize additional training for UCC RS doctors in the above health institutions.
