Official opening of the eleventh Days of Srpska in Serbia event, organized by the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Serbia, will take place on 20 September at 20:00 at the National Theater in Belgrade, and be broadcast live on the Radio Television of the Republic of Srpska.
As event host, the Head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Serbia, Mlađen Cicović, will speak first. On behalf of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, the gathering at the National Theater will be blessed by the Titular Bishop of Jegra, Nektarije. Ana Brnabić, the Prime Minister of Serbia, will speak on behalf of the Republic of Serbia, and Željka Cvijanović, the Serb member of the BiH Presidency, will speak on behalf of the Republic of Srpska and also open officially this year’s Srpska Days in Serbia.
Attendance at the ceremony is expected by the highest representatives of Srpska and Serbia, ministers in the governments of Serbia and Republic of Srpska, representatives of the provincial government, army and police generals of the two countries, academics, prominent artists, businessmen and other dignitaries.
The artistic part of the ceremonial opening of the Days of Srpska event in Serbia will show the importance and beauty of the Serbian national identity through history, poetry and, above all, folk music and dance, with the Kosovo-Metohija ensemble Venac from Gračanica, the national ensemble Kolo, Una Saga Serbica dance company and choir of the Children’s Cultural Center Belgrade.
The programs of the eleventh Srpska Days in Serbia continue on Thursday, 21 September in Belgrade and Novi Sad, and in the following days in Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Zrenjanin, Kruševac, Subotica, Sombor, Čačak and Bajina Bašta. The closing ceremony of the event will take place on Tuesday, 26 September, at the National Theater in Niš.
