Srpska’s Representative Office in Germany is working to break down prejudices and explain to potential investors what kind of business climate awaits them in the Republic of Srpska.

In an interview with Srna, the head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Germany, Mićo Ćetković, said that in the first half of the year, Srpska had generated a trade surplus with that country of BAM 22.1 million, while in the same period of preceding year it had run a deficit of BAM 34.3 million.

Anyway, we continue to persistently strengthen economic ties and attract German investments with the concrete goal of cooperation, in order to improve economic affairs and develop them in a positive direction for the Republic of Srpska - noted Ćetković.

According to him, there is also a dose of caution, so the Representation is working to break down prejudices and explain to potential investors what kind of business climate awaits them in the Republic of Srpska.

We tell them about the low costs of doing business, the subsidies available to foreign investors, the favorable geostrategic position of Srpska, the low costs of doing business, the competitive and highly qualified workforce - noted Ćetković.

He pointed out that Germans were indeed very interested in investing in the Republic of Srpska.

In March, we spoke with Barbara Effenberger in Stuttgart about the possibility of cooperation between the Baden-Württemberg Chamber and Srpska’s Chamber of Commerce. We also visited the German company BC Schweisstechnik, where we discussed possible investment in Srpska - stated Ćetković.

He pointed out that the war in Ukraine had not affected the operation of the Representative Office, and said that since January they had implemented many activities planned for this year.

I am proud that we had celebrated the 30th birthday of the Republic of Srpska, in particular because of the high turnout of our people living and working in Germany. We continued to constantly improve the cooperation through mutual connecting of companies from the Republic of Srpska with German partners, all with the aim of promoting the economic potentials of Srpska - said Ćetković.

He noted that the Republic of Srpska’s German Representation was in constant contact with Srpska’s Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation, Zlatan Klokić, and in the first half of the year they held a meeting together with representatives of Serb associations and societies in that country.

We spoke about cooperation between Srpska and the diaspora, we presented them the newly established Srpska’s Diaspora Register, and invited them to register in order to connect more strongly with the motherland - stated Ćetković.

The Head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Germany noted that a meeting had been arranged between the Prime Minister of Srpska’s Government, Radovan Višković, and the Minister of Economy of Baden-Württemberg, Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, as well as a series of meetings with German businessmen.
