Representatives of the Cultural, Educational, Sports and Humanitarian Society Vuk Karadžić from Radovljica, Slovenia, organized the 15th Vuk’s Days, an event dedicated to the Serbian reformer Vuk Stefanović Karadžić.
The attendees were greeted by the president of the society, Miroslav Martić, and Serbian Ambassador to Ljubljana, Ivo Vojvodić. The Ambassador said it was a great honor for him to participate in marking the event dedicated to Vuk Stefanović Karadžić – ‘a man who shaped the modern Serbian language and culture more than any other, leaving an indelible mark on the entire Slavic world.’ He also congratulated the significant anniversary – 30 years of existence of the Vuk Karadžić Society, praising their continuous, dedicated work and creativity.
The evening also included performances by young dancers from Slovenian, Serbian and Austrian folklore societies, youth from the SCC Vuk S. Karadžić from Bačka Topola (Serbia), CAS Mladost from Leobersdorf (Austria), SCS Sloga from Nova Gorica (Slovenia), SCAS Vidovdan from Ljubljana (Slovenia).
The audience rewarded the performance of Serbian traditional songs and recitations with well-deserved applause; and as befits a great anniversary, certificates of appreciation and recognition were presented to members who had participated selflessly in the creation and development of the Vuk Karadžić Society Radovljica from its founding to the present day.
