Togetherness unites us, wherever we are!

The Chief of Staff of the Office of the Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation, Goran Vučić, attended the ceremonial opening of the cultural and sports event United Wherever We Are on Kopaonik, in Kraljevi Čardaci.

Đorđe Milićević, Minister without portfolio in charge of monitoring the situation, proposing measures and participating in the coordination of activities in the field of relations between the Republic of Serbia and the diaspora, opened a children’s camp as part of the United Wherever We Are event, on the occasion of the implementation of the program defined by the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Srpska, on 8 June 2024.

This year’s event brought together more than 250 boys and girls from different parts of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska, and its goal is to encourage togetherness, trust and the preservation of cultural and spiritual ties between the young generations of the Serbian people.

The event is a wonderful opportunity for socializing, sports and preserving the unity of young people from both sides of the Drina River.

Minister Milićević said that this camp was a living proof of brotherhood and unity between Serbia and the Republic of Srpska, as well as a strong confirmation of the state policy aimed at preserving national identity, cultural heritage and a common future.

‘The event United Wherever We Are is not only a youth meeting place, but also a symbol of the lasting bond between Serbia and the Republic of Srpska. It reminds us that we are one people who share the same history, the same culture and the same love for our roots,’ said Minister Milićević.

He stated that the presence of a large number of young people was the best confirmation that the spirit of unity and belonging was being passed on to new generations, who would be the guardians of national identity and Serbian cultural space in the years to come.

‘Our common task is to give children the opportunity to get to know each other, to learn from each other, to love their tradition and their people. Only in this way can we preserve what we are, a people who do not forget their origins, but look forward, to the future,’ said Minister Milićević.

Milićević added that this event was part of the continuity of Serbia’s state-building policy, which strengthened institutional, cultural and spiritual ties with the Republic of Srpska and the Serbian people wherever they live.

‘Serbia will always stand by its children, by its people in the Republic of Srpska and abroad. Our unity is our greatest strength and the foundation of every future victory,’ said Minister Milićević.

The event will take place from 7 to 9 November.
