The minister without portfolio in charge of coordination of activities and measures in the area of relations with the diaspora in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Đorđe Milićević, announced yesterday that the All-Serbian Children’s Assembly festival would take place from 25 to 28 May in Belgrade.
Milićević said that this event aimed to gather children of Serbian origin, aged nine to thirteen, from the diaspora, the region and Serbia, and to connect them strongly with the motherland.
According to him, the festival will be filled with a rich cultural and artistic program, which will enable the children to connect with Serbian history, culture and tradition in a unique way.
The minister said that this allowed us to preserve our cultural heritage, language and traditions, but also created a strong bond between generations.
He stated that this event would be organized under the auspices of the President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić, with festival participants coming from Austria, North Macedonia, Hungary, Germany, Romania and Croatia to be accommodated in the families of their peers from Starina Novak elementary school.
Milićević announced that, during July and August, in cooperation with local self-governments, the office in charge of coordinating activities and measures in the area of relations with the diaspora would organize summer camps for youth from the diaspora in more than 20 cities across Serbia.
The minister added that these camps would allow the youth to learn about their motherland in a unique way and that they would be themed and adapted to youth interests and affinities.
Some camps will focus on sports activities, some on cultural and artistic expression, while there will be also those dedicated to ecology and scientific research, he said.
