The investment conference Invest Srpska, organized by the Investment Development Bank of the Republic of Srpska in partnership with Prointer and general sponsorship with RTRS, is held from 17 to 19 June, at the San Hotel in Laktaši.
The conference brings together eminent businessmen and politicians, who will try to provide answers and suggestions for future economic trends through six panels.
The first panel Investment Opportunities in the Republic of Srpska should offer answer to the question why invest in the Republic of Srpska, what are the opportunities, advantages and benefits, and what are the limitations of investing in the domestic social and economic context.
The panel is a kind of introduction to the next panel discussion entitled Challenges of Doing Business in the Republic of Srpska. This panel examines current events and trends that surround doing business in the Republic of Srpska, especially in the context of the emergence and spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and negative effects of this virus on the overall socio-economic trends. Mapping key problems and challenges of domestic economic development will provide an opportunity to adequately identify the most important directions for dynamizing the development of the Republic of Srpska in the coming period.
In the third panel Economic Development Financing, Development Institutions vs. Commercial Sector, the panelists analyze different approaches and models of economic development financing following the experiences of countries from our immediate vicinity. The aim is to consider the possibilities of intensifying development financing, where, in addition to national development institutions, a special place should be occupied by commercial financial institutions, which are traditionally profit-oriented.
Technological Development to Support Economic Development of the Republic of Srpska deals with the prospects for intensifying technological development of the Republic of Srpska and assessment of the potential for this development to be the engine of the overall domestic socio-economic growth and development in the coming period.
At the fifth panel, mayors and heads of five municipalities will try to find an answer to the question of how to establish a balanced development of regions in the Republic of Srpska.
The last panel Directions and Potentials of Economic Development of the Republic of Srpska in the Conditions of Global Socio-Economic Disturbances should look at domestic practices and compare them with good international experiences. It should also consider objectively all challenges and recognize possible directions of dynamic and sustainable economic development of the Republic of Srpska.
In that sense, it seems to be of special interest to analyze the good experiences of economic development of some of the countries in the region that share similar problems and challenges of socio-economic growth and development with the Republic of Srpska.
