The Republic of Srpska celebrated its 30th birthday.
On the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Srpska, the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Brussels in cooperation with the Serbian Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in Rotterdam held the celebration for the second time on Sunday, 20 February, to gather our people and celebrate this great event.
The celebration was attended by the Republic of Srpska representative from Brussels and Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Ms Ksenija Milenković.
After the holy liturgy followed by the church gospel and the consecration of the cake, Mr Nemanja Malić, advisor to the head of the Republic of Srpska Representation, took the opportunity to thank everyone for coming, and to emphasize the importance of this gathering.
‘This day has been disputed and denied for many years, although you will not hear it said out loud. That is why we should continue to celebrate Srpska, to keep it in our hearts and never forget where we are from,’ said Malić.
Republic of Srpska was founded on January 9, 1992. Three and a half years later the Dayton Peace Agreement was signed, which internationally verified it as one of the two highly decentralized entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina.
