The city of Stuttgart summer festival was recently held in the capital of the province of Baden-Württemberg, where Serbs were presented among the numerous stands by representatives of three associations from this city: Morava, Sloga, and Serbian Center. From the very beginning of participation in this festival, Morava society members were present for all six days, they worked tirelessly and their folk dance group presented Dances from Serbia on the last day on the big stage. The traditional Morava’s guests could hardly wait to be served their đuveč and grilled specialties. The recently elected young Morava management was very well organized at this festival, though it was not difficult because they took the advice of the elders who had been at this festival for years.
For the first time, the Sloga society was present at this event for six days. At their stand, the numerous visitors who had come to their favorite festival after a two-year forced break, were also offered Serbian specialties, primarily from the grill, which are very popular in Stuttgart (and throughout Germany). The young members of Sloga were well organized and the older members were there to help. In addition to food, same as Morava, they also offered a large amount of drinks, with the inevitable slivovitz.
The management of the Serbian Center decided to have the center present at the city of Stuttgart Summer Festival, this time as in previous years, only for the weekend. Marking their summer slava, visit by the choreographer from Serbia, Zvezdan Đurić, and staging of two choreographies for the children’s and middle ensembles on that weekend made it impossible to spare time to be present all six days. However, their Crepes, Bre pancakes were in great demand. It was precisely because of choreographer Đurić’s visit that the young folk dancers could not perform on the stage, where they had always danced the dances of their ancestors on the last day of the festival.
The summer festival of the city of Stuttgart is one of the most visited festivals of the Swabian capital. It is usually visited by half a million people in six days. The organizers also offered a rich musical program, workshops for children and young people, many stands for visitors, a big raffle with great prizes. The food and drink stands were run by foreign associations registered in Stuttgart, so the selection of food covered all continents.
