A delegation from the Republic of Srpska consisting of representatives of several development agencies, including the Investment Development Bank of the Republic of Srpska, is on a two-day visit to Brussels within a study visit on the subject of EU funds and other donors.
The visit includes a series of meetings to present current programs and future activities of the European Union.
‘The visit was also an opportunity to present previous activities and results of the Republic of Srpska Investment Development Bank in managing the Financial Mechanism for financing integrated and sustainable local development projects in the Republic of Srpska, which largely matches the functioning rules and principles of EU funds’, announced IDB Srpska.
They add that many years of experience in managing the Financial Mechanism project have resulted in the web service of the Republic of Srpska Investment Development Bank intended for entrepreneurs to follow the availability of all grants. The service is available at www.grantovi.irbrs.org, where we have created a clear, systematic and concise overview of current public calls for grants to businessmen.
‘We invite businessmen and local communities to access our database of donor funds, which was created to facilitate their decision-making to implement their development projects in this way. The users may request our further support in the form of advice and instructions for applying to an open public call, which primarily relates to the clarification of specific conditions and funding requirements, and the elaboration of their project ideas according to donor requirements’, said IDB.
The discussions in Brussels covered also additional modalities for positioning the Bank, and its contribution to a more efficient use of the European pre-accession funds.
Moreover, the possibility was noted to use funds from other sources of financing, primarily for environmental protection and energy efficiency projects. Some activities in that direction have already been agreed for the beginning of 2023.
The Republic of Srpska Investment Development Bank is represented by Mirko Bošnjak, director of the international cooperation sector.
The organizer of the study visit is the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Belgium, in cooperation with the Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska.
During the visit, several meetings were organized at the European Commission (DG Regio and DG Near) and European Union Innovation Agency. During the visit, the Republic of Srpska delegation also met with representatives of the American organization The Nature Conservancy, which deals with financing projects in the field of environmental protection.
