The fourth Herzeg House – an authentic local food store – was opened in Belgrade.
The mayors of Trebinje and Belgrade, Mirko Ćurić and Aleksandar Šapić, and the Director of the Agrarian Fund, Veselin Dutina, opened the Herzeg House at an attractive location at Makenzijeva Street 44.
The Mayor of Trebinje Ćurić said that the opening of the Herzeg House symbolically connected the Republic of Srpska and Serbia, and that from that day the citizens of the Serbian capital would have the opportunity to buy the best that came from Herzegovina, authentic, organic and natural.
He stated that 10,000 Trebinjans lived in Belgrade alone, and a significantly larger number of Herzegovinians who had been educated here for decades, raising families, becoming successful people in responsible positions, and who never forgot their homeland and rugged Herzegovina of their roots.
Ćurić thanked especially the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, for fully supporting the Herzeg House project and being personally involved in providing the necessary conditions for the opening of the facility in Belgrade, as well as Mayor Aleksandar Šapić and the Association of Trebinjans Jovan Dučić.
The Mayor of Belgrade, Aleksandar Šapić, said today, at the opening of the Herzeg House, that Belgrade was not only the capital of Serbia, but the capital of all Serbs living in the region.
‘We, as members of the Serbian people, must try to take care of each other wherever we are, especially in an environment where we are relatively close’, Šapić noted.
He stated that the Herzeg House should be a place offering all Belgraders the products related to that region.
The opening of this facility attracted interest of many Herzegovinians in Belgrade as well as the residents of Vračar, where the sales facility is located.
This is the first such sales facility in Serbia and generally outside the borders of the Republic of Srpska, and it was realized by the City of Trebinje and its Agrarian Fund, with the support of the City of Belgrade and Serbian leadership.
From the very beginning, the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Serbia supported the intent of the City of Trebinje and its Agrarian Fund to open a Herzeg House in Belgrade.
