The St Sava Ball was held last evening in Banski Dvor in Banja Luka with a varied program that included town dances and kolo, old-town and traditional Serbian songs, waltz.

The ball was organized in the Concert Hall by the Sveti Sava cultural and artistic society, whose president, Milenko Dulić, said that they nurtured the traditions of their ancestors dating back several centuries.

Dulić noted that this year’s St Sava Ball was enriched by the presence of actor Dejan Lutkić, as a special guest of this event.

The actor Lutkić said that the significance of this event was great, and should be even greater because Banja Luka deserved it.

From 25 to 30 January, St Sava Ball will celebrate St Sava Day and two decades of this event in the French capital. The Days of Saintsavaism start on Thursday in Paris, and will last until the following Monday. The Union of Serbs in France, the Serbian Orthodox Church in France, Mondo Cult and the Embassy of Serbia in France are organizing three major ceremonies.

In the Church of Saint Sava, in the ceremonial hall, the Days of Saintsavaism will be opened by the Bishop of Western Europe, Justin, and include a screening of the film Skazanje o Svetom Savi, a presentation of municipalities, spas and tourism organizations of Serbia.

The St Sava Academy will be held on Friday at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia. Students of Serbian supplementary schools in Paris will perform a St Sava program, and our artists will play the music of Serbs from the motherland and diaspora.

For Saintsavaism Days, a St Sava Ball will be held on a boat on the Seine on 27 January.

The main organizers, the Union of Serbs of France and Mondo Cult, have prepared a diverse artistic program, with participation of Biseri cultural and artistic society Paris, Brojanica vocal ensemble and the ball orchestra of Petar Gojković.

On Sunday, 28 January, the Serbian Cultural Center in Paris will host a panel discussion on the topic The Motherland and Serbian Diaspora. The participants will include representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Embassy of Serbia, Serbs from France and diaspora. The main organizer of the panel will be the Union of Serbs of France.
