An important meeting took place in Linz between representatives of the Serb communities of Upper Austria and representatives of the institutions of Serbia and Srpska and Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Austria.
The meeting was attended by members of the Upper Austria Serb communities, representatives of the Serbian Ministry without portfolio in charge of the diaspora, Serbian Ambassador Nebojša Rodić and Honorary Consul of Serbia in Linz, and Mladen Filipović, the Head of the Republic of Srpska Austrian Representation.
This meeting proved the strength of connecting the institutions with Serb communities in the daily life of Serbs living in Upper Austria.
The Republic of Srpska and its Austrian Representation have been supporting Serb associations for many years and cooperating strongly with the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Mladen Filipović, the Head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Austria, says that the projects initiated with Upper Austria are proof that this cooperation is working at the highest level and being successfully implemented.
‘Among the projects to be implemented is the construction of a chapel that will be consecrated this year. This event will be attended by Serbian Patriarch Porfirije and President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik. The Serbian language school is also part of these initiatives’, Filipović said.
Filipović added that the Republic of Srpska’s long-term cooperation with Upper Austria was extremely important and would continue.
The meeting held in Linz is another step forward in strengthening ties between the Serb communities in Austria and their homeland.
