The interest of RS citizens to join the Diaspora Register is growing on a daily basis, confirmed the RS Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation for the InfoBijeljina portal. ‘Since January 2022, when the Register was established, until today, we have been receiving more and more queries and entries. Entry in the Register is a long-term activity, which will achieve its full results in a longer period, with the constant engagement of the Ministry and our representative offices abroad’, said the Ministry.
The RS Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation added that regarding the Register, everything had been done to make the registration brief, i.e. to make it simple and adapted to different target groups.
‘Entry in the Register is made by filling out the relevant form available on the official website for the diaspora www.dijasporars.com. The form was designed to be simple and clear’, said the Ministry for the InfoBijeljina portal.
The goal of the Diaspora Register, as a voluntary record, is to create an active network that will encourage communication, economic investments, knowledge and experience exchange between the diaspora and the institutions of the Republic of Srpska.
Establishing diaspora records by geographical representation, as well as by qualification structure and occupation of diaspora members is very important, because such information would enable creation of models of mutual cooperation taking into account the potential and interests of the diaspora.
‘Mapping the diaspora opens opportunities for cooperation in many areas of social, cultural, economic and scientific life, and at the same time strengthens the connection between members of the diaspora and the Republic of Srpska. We are certain that the effects will be of long-term nature’, noted the Ministry.
