The Head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Serbia, Mlađen Cicović, said that Srpska had had an outstanding presentation at Belgrade International Tourism Fair and made a strong step forward in promoting its destinations, especially spas.
‘Our offer package was varied and substantial, placing special emphasis on spas, primarily due to the fact that it is precisely there that a large number of guests from Serbia had stayed in the past period,’ said Cicović.
He stated that the fair audience followed the presentations of Trebinje, Višegrad including Andrićgrad, and Istočno Sarajevo with particular interest.
Srpska’s unique space in Hall One included individual stand presentations of tourism organizations from Trebinje, Istočno Sarajevo (Jahorina), Bijeljina, Višegrad, Doboj, Brčko District, Kozara National Park and Republic of Srpska spas.
Cicović said that important contacts had been established during the fair between Srpska’s exhibitors and tourism professionals and their peers, which would provide guidance in the coming period as to what needed to be done to ensure the continuation of tourism industry’s current growth trend.
‘Sometimes it seems to me that we are unable to grasp the gems and volume of natural potentials and resources held by Srpska. This is supported by the fact that every first time visitor is delighted with the natural beauty, amenities and values unparalleled in the world. It is also necessary to educate people on how to engage in tourism and offer what they have to make it visible and accessible to potential tourists,’ said Cicović.
He stated that much more needed to be done on tourism infrastructure, and that everyone in the region had to endeavor to define tourism products in order to keep foreign tourists as long as possible and make them come back again.
The Minister of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Srpska, Denis Šulić, expressed his satisfaction for exhibitors from the Republic of Srpska being very well-visited, and said that the introduction of a central information system would further improve the tourism offer.
The fair brought together more than 400 exhibitors from all continents.
