The Government of the Republic of Srpska passed the Decree on establishing and keeping the diaspora register.

This Decree lays down the establishment and keeping of the diaspora register of natural and legal persons and associations abroad, the manner of applying for entry in the register, and other issues related to the register.

The register is established for systematic collecting, keeping and processing of data on citizens, legal entities and associations in the diaspora, for the purpose of strengthening and developing cooperation, and planning the activities of institutions.

The Decree applies to natural persons residing abroad who are of Republic of Srpska origin, and to legal entities and associations abroad whose owners/founders are of Republic of Srpska origin.
