The first sports gathering 3, 2, 1: Srpska has begun in Trebinje, bringing together 150 athletes from Serbia and Srpska, aged ten to 15. The aim of the project is introducing, connecting and friendship among children from Serbia and Srpska through sports activities.

The three-day event, within thematic panels, will host the prominent athletes from the Republic of Srpska: basketballer Saša Čađo, footballer Marija Aleksić and judoka Mitar Mrdić.

- I am glad to be part of this event because we want to show young people the importance of school sports and to offer them a path and guide them in a healthy way toward creating a better future for themselves. In general, besides working on the physical fitness of the body, sports make you better prepared for life, more versatile and resistant to all the challenges life brings, and if you start preparing on time, it will be easier for you to cope with all the obligations imposed on you daily - said Čađo.

- The point is that these children understand how important the spirit of community and the spirit of unity are and that they understand that we are the same people - said minister without portfolio in the Serbian Government Đorđe Miličević.

- Our plan is to hold one of the summer camps in the Republic of Srpska in order to gather our children from the diaspora here in Srpska, but certainly also children from Serbia - said the Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation in Srpska’s Government Zlatan Klokić.

The city of Trebinje has been officially declared the European City of Sports 2025, making it logical to start this gathering in the south of Srpska.

- This is one people and what is important is to connect the youth. We are glad it is in Trebinje and it is planned in other Srpska cities in the coming period - said the Mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Ćurić.
