On the occasion of marking the Day of the Republic of Srpska – 9 January, the Palace of the Republic, the Cultural Center Banski Dvor, the City Administration of Banja Luka, the memorial to the fallen soldiers of the Defensive-Patriotic War and all the buildings along the Kralja Petra Prvog Karađorđevića Street from the City Administration to Krajina Square, are illuminated in the colors of the flag of the Republic of Srpska.
The highest officials of the Republic of Srpska and ministers in the governments of Srpska and Serbia arrived at Krajina Square in Banja Luka, where a ceremonial parade is underway to mark 9 January – the Day of the Republic of Srpska.
Among the officials are the Serb member and Chairperson of BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović, President of the National Assembly Nenad Stevandić, Prime Minister Radovan Višković, and Government ministers.
Before that, the Cavalry Unit of the Gendarmerie of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska was mustered in front of the Palace with the Republic flag.
The ceremonial parade includes 3,400 participants, 55 civilian echelons, 14 police echelons, eight motorized echelons, and one color guard.
