Members of the Serbian Educational and Cultural Society Prosvjeta in Germany celebrated their Paraskeva of the Balkans Slava last weekend in Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart. The hosts were Prosvjeta board members Bogdana Brezovac, Ana Šerer and Zoran Davidović. The celebration was attended by guests from various parts of Germany, association representatives, prominent individuals, and very distinguished guests from Belgrade.
‘On Sunday, 10 November 2024, the celebration took place in the premises of Jedinstvo Serbian Club in Ludwigsburg with prayer, slava bread and koliva. The solemn act of consecrating the Slava symbols was led by protoiereus-stavrophor Stojadin Pavlović from the Belgrade and Karlovci Archbishopric and concelebrated by protoiereus-stavrophor Borisav Simić and protoiereus Dragoslav Ćorković,’ said the president of the German Prosvjeta Bogdana Brezovac.
President Brezovac thanked for the oration on behalf of all members and greeted all the gathered. Brezovac reminded those present that ‘the word selected for the most beautiful new Serbian word is the one inspiring hope – in contrast to the last year’s, which was duhoklonuće’. ‘The winning word is rasanica – it means emerging from a state of confusion, uncertainty.’
Actress Neda Sobolevski read excerpts from the book Petkana, and the cultural and entertainment part of the program was enriched by the students of solo singing teacher Ana Stevanović. The musical accompaniment was provided by David Ljubojević on the accordion.
Prosvjeta members celebrated their Slava by socializing with the guests that included the Republic of Serbia’s Consul General in Stuttgart Dragan Dimitrijević and BiH Consul General in Stuttgart Vera Sajić, Berlin Chamber of Commerce representative Dragana Milica Nikolić, and representatives of Karlsruhe Serbian Cultural Center, Bratstvo club, Morava association, Jedinstvo club etc.
