Although the whole year has been dedicated to celebrating the important jubilee, the ceremonial academy is the central event, which brought together numerous friends and partners of the Cultural and Artistic Society.
As befits a society that has nurtured Serbian culture, tradition, song and dance for decades, the academy opened with the performance of Branko’s kolo and the audience was guided through the program by an excellent acting couple – Svetozar Cvetković and Anica Dobra.
At the beginning, a short documentary Our 40 Years showed the growth and development of the society that has become an institution known in Austria, Serbia and throughout Europe over the past four decades.
The celebration was attended by Dragana Spikić, responsible for culture and media at the Serbian Embassy in Austria, Siniša Bencun, BiH Ambassador to the OSCE and other international organizations, Mladen Filipović, the Head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Austria, father Petar Pantić on behalf of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Franz Markus, the President of the Viennese district 10, representatives of the Viennese police, Luka Marković, the President of the Association of Serbian Clubs in Vienna, Miroslav Drljača, the Head of Novi Grad municipality, and numerous club members and friends. Father Petar Pantić blessed the assembly.
The gathering was addressed by Dragana Spikić who conveyed the greetings of the Serbian ambassador in Vienna, Nebojša Rodić, followed by Mladen Filipović. The president of the society Radmila Maksimović presented them with plaques as a sign of gratitude for their cooperation.
